Yes, all French past tense verbs need a helping verb. For the ones that use être please refer to the DR&MRSVANDERTRAMP list I gave the class. They will have to go memorized.
Sorry but also on one page in the booklet the sentence is "Comment s'appelle la conseillère QUI parle avec Fabienne" and another sentence is " Je vais lire l'annonce classée DONT ton ami a parlé" so how come in the first one it uses qui but the second uses dont but they both have parle. I thought when it has parler it is dont?
It is because in the first sentence, there is just a verb so you must use QUI. In the second example there is a subject and a verb (a sentence) therefore you must use DONT. QUE and DONT are always followed by a sentence and QUI is just followed by a verb.
Hi Mr.Lawrence for the test for the reading and listening portion to study it's basically just going over the vocabulary we learned right? And the grammaire is just practising the qui que and dont sheets we worked on throughout the unit?
Hi Mr. Lawrence I was wondering if on the quiz we will need to conjugate the words and if we do will it be the ones under verb and adjective or just verb?
Hi Mr.Laurence I am kinda confused about the writing portion of the test and exactly what we are supposed to write abt/how were supposed to study for it as its been so long since last talking abt the written test. I know we are talking abt a good shopper but is it like how we are as a shopper and if we are a good shopper or not or what we think the idea of a good shopper is?
Hi Mr.Lawrence, for the irregular verbs do they need a helping verb with them like "tu as compris" and if so how do you know if its avoir or etre.
